The EG4 WallMount 314Ah AllWeather LiFePO4 Battery
The WallMount 314Ah AllWeather Battery delivers 16kWh of nominal energy storage in a wall-mounted, IP67-rated enclosure that works indoors and outdoors. Each unit contains 16 UL-recognized 3.2V LiFePO4 cells wired in series, producing a nominal voltage of 51.2Vdc. At the recommended 80% DOD (Depth of Discharge), you’ll get 12.86kWh of usable energy per cycle, and the battery can last more than 10,000 cycles before reaching 70% of its original capacity. This makes it ideal for use in your off-grid cabin, residential home, or commercial installation.
The EG4 AllWeather Battery Excels in Rain or Snow
The IP67 ingress protection rating means this enclosure is sealed against dust and can withstand temporary water submersion. This rating protects the internal cells and electronics when installed in garages, sheds, basements, utility closets, and the outdoors. While the EG4 314Ah outdoor battery can withstand brief submersion, it’s important to install it in a location unlikely to flood.
The operating discharge temperature spans from -4°F to 131°F, and the charging range spans from 32°F to 122°F. When temperatures fall to 32°F or below, the integrated 448W heater activates to keep cells within a safe charging range. The heater automatically shuts off at 37°F. For hot climates, natural convection cooling keeps the unit within operating parameters up to 131°F during discharge.
These features make this 16kWh LiFePO4 battery ideal for outdoor installation in most climates and regions.
Power Multiple Home Loads While Starting Large Motors
The BMS manages a maximum continuous charge current of 157A and a maximum continuous discharge current of 200A, which translates to 8kW of continuous charge power and 10kW of continuous discharge power. For pumps, compressors, and other items with high-inrush current, the EG4 AllWeather battery can provide up to 12.8kW for up to three seconds.
A 250A battery breaker protects against damage from dangerously high currents.
Add Batteries for Commercial Renewable Energy Systems
For systems needing additional energy, you can combine up to 32 EG4 314Ah AllWeather batteries for a total storage capacity of 514kWh. This is enough to power large-scale residences or small commercial systems.
Auto-ID Enables Plug-and-Play Setup
The WallMount 314Ah AllWeather Battery uses Auto-ID technology, so you don’t have to manually configure battery addresses and protocols. When the primary battery powers on, the BMS detects the connected inverter and automatically selects the correct communication protocol: EG4, Victron, or another compatible brand. It then assigns itself as battery ID 1, and each additional battery receives a unique ID in sequence.
Installers connect batteries using the included communication cables between Comm 1 and Comm 2 ports, close the loop with the included 120Ω terminating resistors, and power on each unit in order. The Auto-ID process completes in three to five seconds per battery.
The BMS Protects the Battery and Extends Cycle Life
The integrated BMS monitors each of the 16 cells individually and provides protection against overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, short circuit, and high/low temperature conditions. Should the BMS notice a cell or PCB outside of safe operating temperature, it automatically shuts down the battery.
Active cell balancing operates at 2-3A, which means it can equalize the cells more quickly than passive methods. It also keeps cell voltages within a tight range of each other, which directly extends cycle life and maintains consistent capacity across the full battery bank.
Installation and Mounting
Since this 48V wall mount battery is so heavy, it’s important to attach it to the wall while resting the feet on the ground. Combine the battery with the EG4 conduit box to hide the wires going from the battery to the inverter. The conduit box rests directly on top of the battery, and you can install an EG4 inverter, like the 18kPV, 12kPV, FlexBOSS18, or FlexBOSS21, directly on top.
The shipment includes battery power cables with Degson quick connectors, M10 lifting eye bolts, a mounting bracket, expansion bolts, and an X bracket to facilitate the installation.
Installations with multiple batteries must have at least 4in between each battery, but check with your local AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) for additional requirements.
Internal Fire Arrestors
LiFePO batteries are some of the safest available, but EG4 included internal fire arrestors in this IP67 solar battery which activate under dangerous circumstances to suppress an internal fire.
Rapid Shutdown Capabilities
Most residential energy systems require an RSD (Rapid Shutdown) button of some kind to protect firefighters and other emergency personnel in a crisis, and the 314Ah AllWeather battery includes multiple RSD options.
First, the dry contact integrates with RSD buttons like the IMO Rapid Shutdown Initiator. When activated, the battery can send the RSD signal to connected devices and shutdown all compatible components.
Second, when combined in closed-loop communication with a compatible EG4 inverter, the inverter's RSD feature can initiate a complete system shutdown, including all paralleled batteries.

Frequently Asked Questions About the 314Ah AllWeather WallMount Battery
It uses LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) cells, some of the safest available. The 16 individual 3.2V cells are wired in series to produce a nominal 51.2Vdc output.
Yes. The IP67 rating means it keeps out dust and can withstand brief water submersion. The integrated heater also makes it suited for climates down to 32°F.
The 448W heater automatically activates when the battery's internal temperature drops to or below 32°F. It shuts off once the internal temperature rises to 37°F. This allows the battery to maintain safe charging temperatures in cold climates without external heating equipment. The heater draws power from the battery at 56V.
You can combine up to 32 EG4 AllWeather WallMount batteries in parallel with CAN or RS485 closed-loop communication.
Auto-ID eliminates manual DIP switch configuration. When the master battery powers on, the BMS detects the inverter communication protocol and assigns battery IDs automatically. Each additional battery receives a sequential ID within three to five seconds. Installers connect the batteries via Comm 1 and Comm 2 ports, install 120Ω terminating resistors at each end of the communication chain, and power on the batteries in sequence.
The battery is certified to UL 1973 and UL 9540A. It is also UL 9540 certified with the EG4 FlexBOSS18 and EG4 FlexBOSS21.
When regularly discharged only down to 20%, the battery can maintain at least 70% of its original capacity after 10,000 cycles. This translates to over 27 years when cycled once daily.
Yes. It’s normal to see SOC (State of Charge %) variations up to 10% between parallelled batteries. These even out over the charge cycle.
EG4 recommends a periodic inspection of cables and connections.
Every six months, you should check the power cables and connections for wear and proper connection. Also check that the operating parameters are correct and run a shallow charge and discharge test.
Once every 12 months, you should check the communication cables for wear and proper connection.
