About the Fortress Power eBoost 16 + eWay Bundle
This bundle includes one Fortress Power eBoost 16 battery module and your choice of eWay or eWay LITE wire management system. The eBoost 16 is the same battery in both configurations. The eWay selection determines how the system is wired, mounted, and whether it supports parallel expansion and advanced monitoring. Use the selector above to choose the eWay option that fits your installation.
What's in the Bundle
The eBoost 16 is a high-capacity battery module that stores 16.077kWh of usable energy at 51.2V nominal, using Tier-1 prismatic 16-cell LiFePO4 chemistry with a 314Ah capacity. The eWay (or eWay LITE) is the wire management enclosure that mounts on top of the eBoost battery, providing an organized conduit path for AC and DC wiring between the battery and inverter.
eBoost 16 Battery Performance
The eBoost 16 supports closed-loop charge and discharge currents of 180A and 250A respectively when communicating with a compatible Fortress Power Envy inverter. For short-duration peak loads, the module can deliver up to 314A for 10 seconds and a surge discharge power of 16kW for 10 seconds. This burst capability helps handle motor startup events like compressors, well pumps, and power tools without tripping the system. The operating voltage range spans 41.6V to 57.6V, with a bulk/absorption charge voltage of 55.2V and a cut-off voltage of 41.6V.
The eBoost 16 uses Tier-1 prismatic LFP cells rated for 8,000 cycles at 70% end-of-life capacity retention. At one full cycle per day, that translates to over 21 years of expected service life before the battery degrades to 70% of its original capacity.
Built for Outdoor Installation
The eBoost 16 is IP65 rated and sealed against dust and water jets. Built-in heating elements keep the battery cells within their operating temperature range during cold weather, enabling charging and discharging in temperatures as low as -4°F (-20°C). The operating temperature range extends up to 140°F (60°C), though performance will begin to degrade above 104°F (40°C). This means the eBoost can be installed indoors or outdoors without requiring a separate enclosure.
Choosing Between eWay and eWay LITE
Both eWay options provide clean, code-compliant AC and DC wire management in a single enclosure that mounts on top of the eBoost battery, with the Envy inverter mounting on top of the eWay. This creates a vertical stack of battery, wireway, and inverter. Both include an integrated power switch. The differences come down to expansion capability, monitoring support, and features.
eWay (full) is the "master" wireway. It includes a 750A three-terminal busbar for paralleling multiple eBoost batteries, a DIN rail bracket for mounting the optional Guardian monitoring hub, LED status indicators, a Wi-Fi antenna port, and an integrated Rapid Shutdown (RSD) switch covering battery, PV, and AC output. Choose the eWay if you plan to add more eBoost batteries in the future, need Guardian monitoring, or require integrated RSD for NEC compliance.
eWay LITE is the "slave" or standalone wireway. It includes a single 250A battery terminal and a power switch. It does not include a busbar for paralleling, Guardian support, LED indicators, or RSD. Choose the eWay LITE for single-battery installations where simplicity and cost savings are the priority.
In parallel systems, the first eBoost uses the full eWay and each additional eBoost uses an eWay LITE. If you start with the eWay LITE and later decide to expand, you can add a full eWay with your second battery. The full eWay becomes the primary connection point and the original eWay LITE continues to serve the first battery.
Inverter Compatibility
This bundle is compatible with all Fortress Power Envy inverters, including the Envy Duo 21, Envy True 12kW, and Envy 8/10kW models. The full eWay is also compatible with eForce battery systems (different configuration than eBoost).
Certifications
The eBoost 16 is certified to UL 1973 for stationary battery safety, ANSI/CAN/UL 9540:2023 for energy storage systems, and UL 9540A for battery safety testing. It carries CEC, LUMA, and oGPE listings and is UN38.3 certified for transportation. The eBoost is FEOC (Foreign Entity of Concern) compliant for 2026, meeting domestic sourcing requirements for clean energy tax credit eligibility under current IRA guidelines.
Recommended Accessories
The eWay is the full wire management system with a 750A busbar for paralleling multiple batteries, a Rapid Shutdown switch, LED indicators, and a DIN rail bracket for the optional Guardian monitoring hub. The eWay LITE is a simplified version with a single 250A terminal and power switch, designed for standalone single-battery installations where expansion is not planned.
Yes. If you start with a single eBoost 16 and eWay LITE, you can add a second eBoost with a full eWay later. The full eWay becomes the primary connection point with its 750A busbar, and your original eWay LITE continues to serve the first battery.
Yes. The eBoost 16 is IP65 rated and includes built-in heating elements that allow operation in temperatures as low as -4°F (-20°C). It can be installed indoors or outdoors without a separate enclosure.
This bundle is compatible with all Fortress Power Envy inverters, including the Envy Duo 21, Envy True 12kW, and Envy 8/10kW models.
