Victron Energy is headquartered in the Netherlands, and has created alternative energy components for complete off-grid, mobile, and marine applications since 1975. All Victron products are created for modular installment and receive free software updates over the product’s lifetime. 

Victron’s modular components integrate with many brands and can create an entire Victron system from solar panel to battery. Products include solar charge controllers, monitoring devices, DC to DC converters, BMSs (Battery Management Systems), and an assortment of inverter-chargers. 

Victron’s innovative transformer-based inverters have remarkable surge capacity and astonishing idle consumption. This means they can power high surge items like pumps and motors and that they consume very little power when idling. 

Most Victron products can be monitored and configured with the VictronConnect app. Victron Smart products and GX devices access the app over Bluetooth, and Victron inverters require the Bluetooth dongle for this connection. Once connected, VictronConnect provides monitoring for individual devices and enables some minor customization. 

The Victron web portal, or VRM, allows for further customization. Devices connected to a GX device like the Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX appear on the VRM. The VRM is available through a web browser and is therefore available from anywhere in the world. This provides a convenient way to remotely monitor or update the system.

The VRM also allows users to share system information or administrator privileges for system configuration and monitoring.

A Victron purchase includes software updates for the product’s lifetime. This way, new features are always available as long as the old hardware supports it. Victron also makes sure that all new products are compatible with all previous products.
