Product Summary
Epoch's V2-T Elite builds a user-serviceable 250A Class-T fuse into an IP67, self-heating 48V battery that speaks Victron CAN out of the box. Connect the included harness to a Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX, turn on DVCC (Distributed Voltage and Current Control), and the battery sets charge limits for your Victron gear from the first power-up.
Specifications:
- 51.2V nominal, 100Ah, 5.12kWh LiFePO4 rated for 3,500 cycles to 70% capacity
- 80A continuous discharge (about 4,096W DC) and 250A for up to 10 seconds; 80A maximum charge from all sources combined
- User-serviceable 250A Class-T fuse behind a sealed top service panel
- Native Victron CAN at 500 kbit/s with DVCC on Cerbo GX, Cerbo GX MK2 and Ekrano GX; communication harness included
- Self-heats from charge current for charging down to -22°F (-30°C) ambient; discharges down to -4°F (-20°C)
- Bluetooth battery gauge and mountable external power button included, with the Epoch Cloud app for iOS and Android
- IP67, 12.06 x 8.65 x 20.86 in H x W x D including terminal posts (306.3 x 219.8 x 529.8 mm), 97 lb (44 kg), M8 terminals

About the Epoch 48V 100Ah V2-T Elite Battery
The V2-T is Epoch's 48V battery for Victron systems on boats, RVs and off-grid builds, with a Class-T fuse inside the case. That fuse is user-serviceable behind a sealed top panel, so the protection closest to the cells is a part you can replace rather than a reason to send the battery back. Around it you get IP67 sealing, self-heating, Bluetooth monitoring and native Victron CAN.
The included harness plugs into the primary battery and the GX device. On a Victron Cerbo GX MK2, use VE.Can 1 or VE.Can 2 set to 500 kbit/s, turn on DVCC, and set Epoch as both the controlling BMS (Battery Management System) and the battery monitor. From there the battery sets limits for your MultiPlus or Quattro and your Victron solar chargers, and the GX shows modules online and installed capacity so you can confirm every battery in the bank is reporting.
Class-T Fuse Protection Inside a 48V Marine Lithium Battery
The internal 250A Class-T fuse protects the battery at its source, and Epoch is clear about what it doesn't replace: you still need a DC-rated fuse or circuit breaker in the positive conductor as close to the battery as practical, a main disconnect, downstream protection and correctly sized cables. On boats and RVs, codes also limit how far the main fuse can sit from the battery.
On a Victron Lynx system, the Lynx Class-T Power In puts that main protection inside the busbar stack, with Class-T fuse positions for two battery inputs.
Sizing a 48V Inverter for One or More V2-T Batteries
Each battery delivers 80A continuous, about 4,096W of DC power at 51.2V, with 250A for up to 10 seconds to cover start-up surges from compressors, pumps and welders. Epoch's rule is simple: divide the AC load by 51.2V times the inverter's efficiency, and once the inverter's DC input can exceed 80A, add batteries in parallel. A 2,000W load through a 90%-efficient inverter draws about 43A, well inside one battery; at 4,000W the draw reaches about 87A, so plan on two.
Epoch plans runtime on about 4,096Wh per battery: roughly 4.1 hours at a steady 1,000W or 1.4 hours at 3,000W. Banks grow to 16 batteries in parallel, daisy-chained from each battery's black communication port to the next one's blue port. Weighing one battery against two for your inverter and loads? Our team is happy to help with sizing.
Self-Heating, IP67 and Installing the V2-T in a Boat or RV
Below 32°F (0°C), the BMS sends incoming charge current to internal heating pads first, then starts normal charging once the cells are warm, so the battery charges from -22°F (-30°C) ambient whenever charge current is available. Expect a delay before state of charge starts to climb. IP67 covers dust and temporary immersion to 3.3 ft (1 m) for 30 minutes with every seal and gland installed; pressure washing and continuous submersion fall outside it.
Epoch recommends that qualified personnel install high-current DC systems. The job involves a two-person lift for the 97 lb battery, upright mounting with a hold-down or the Epoch V2 and V2-T mounting bracket, which fastens to the threaded inserts, and room above the terminals for cables and the top service panel. Epoch gives no BCI group size, so check tray fit, hold-down and lid clearance when it replaces a Group 8D battery.
Land the cables on the M8 terminals at 8.85 lb-ft (12 N·m). Our custom battery cable builder makes them to length from 6 AWG to 4/0 AWG, sized for the load, the run and the codes that apply to your install.

Frequently Asked Questions
You replace the fuse, not the battery. Epoch's procedure is to shut the system down, have a qualified installer inspect and correct the fault, then install the specified 250A Class-T fuse through the top service panel and refit the panel with its seal.
No. It's a native 48V battery, and Epoch supports neither series nor series-parallel banks with it. Grow capacity in parallel, up to 16 batteries.
Under DVCC the battery sets the limits, but Epoch asks you to program every charge source to the same values: bulk and absorption at 56.8V with at least 15 minutes of absorption per battery in the bank (60 minutes for four), float at 54.0V, equalization off and temperature compensation at 0 mV/°C. Never exceed 58.0V, and keep combined charge current at or below 80A per battery.
For alternator charging, Epoch calls for a DC-DC charger or an alternator regulator set up for lithium.
Epoch's V2-T documents describe closed-loop CAN with Victron GX devices only. With other equipment, program the chargers to Epoch's LiFePO4 settings and watch the battery through the included gauge and the Epoch Cloud app.
Epoch lists cell-level certifications (UL 1642, UL 9540A and IEC 62619:2022), UL 60691 for the internal fuse, and UN 38.3 for transport. Those cover the cells, the fuse and shipping rather than the complete battery or a full energy storage system, so check with your AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) if your installation needs a system listing such as UL 9540.
State of charge, voltage, current, temperature, cycles and alerts for each battery and for the whole bank, with matched batteries grouped on one dashboard. The included gauge connects it over Bluetooth.
