Product Summary
The Epoch 12V 314Ah Eco stores 4.02kWh in one LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery, so one case and one set of connections replace a stack of smaller ones. With 250A continuous for inverter loads and a 6-year warranty, it puts serious capacity behind an RV, boat or cabin without paying for Bluetooth or internal heating.
Specifications:
- 12.8V nominal, 314Ah, 4.02kWh (4,019Wh) of LiFePO4 storage
- 250A continuous discharge with 750A peaks for up to 5 seconds
- Charges at up to 157A recommended and 250A maximum from all sources combined
- Rated for 4,500+ cycles with a 6-year limited warranty
- 10 x 13.75 x 7.63 in H×W×D (254 x 349 x 194 mm), 10.5 in (267 mm) tall at the terminal bolts and 15.5 in (394 mm) long at the rope handles
- M8 female terminals torqued to 8 to 12 Nm (71 to 106 in-lb), 57 lb (25.85 kg)

About the Epoch 12V 314Ah Eco Battery
A 12V 314Ah lithium battery changes how a house bank goes together. One case does the work of three 100Ah batteries. That means fewer interconnects, one main fuse and no balancing act between batteries of different ages. For runtime, plan on about 3,215Wh. That's roughly 32 hours at 100W or 6.4 hours at 500W.
The BMS (Battery Management System) has more than 20 built-in safety features. They cover overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent, short circuits, and high and low temperatures. The cells are UL 1642 certified and UL 9540A tested, and the battery is certified to IEC 62619:2022. There's no watering or equalizing, and the 4,500+ cycle rating covers years of daily cycling.
Running a 3,000W Inverter From One 12V Battery
Epoch rates this battery for properly designed 3,000W-class inverter systems. The number to design around is DC input current. Keep the inverter's draw from the battery within 250A, which is about 3,200W at 12.8V. Expect usable AC output to land lower after conversion losses. The 750A peak covers 5-second start-up surges from compressors, pumps, power tools and welders.
In an RV or van, look at a Victron MultiPlus-II 12V 3kVA inverter-charger. It pairs an inverter in that class with a built-in charger for grid and generator power. Large inverters may need a pre-charge circuit, so plan for one before the first connection.
Class T Main Fuse and MEGA Branch Fuses for a 250A Battery
Epoch calls for a DC-rated fuse or breaker as close as practical to the positive terminal. Size it to protect the smallest wire, and rate it for the system voltage and available fault current. Size the main fuse and cables to the 250A continuous rating, not the 750A peak. A Class-T fuse in a Blue Sea Systems Class-T fuse block is the standard main protection at this size.
Downstream, each circuit for the fridge, water pump or DC panel gets its own fuse. Littelfuse MEGA fuses from 60A to 350A cover those branch runs.
Our custom battery and inverter cables are made to order from 6 AWG to 4/0 AWG. That way the heavy run from battery to fuse to inverter comes out the length your layout needs. Epoch asks that installation be done by someone who understands DC electrical systems, lithium charging, overcurrent protection and conductor sizing. In practice, the job comes down to choosing cable gauge and fuse ratings, programming every charge source and torquing the terminals to spec.
Battery Monitoring With a Shunt
There's no Bluetooth on board, and voltage alone is a poor read on state of charge with LiFePO4. So Epoch recommends a shunt-based monitor and names the Victron SmartShunt 500A/50mV. The Victron SmartShunt counts every amp in and out and shows state of charge on your phone.
Group 31 Footprint: Measure Before You Order
The 12314-ECO is built on a BCI Group 31 footprint. Before you order, check its 7.63 in width and its 10.5 in height at the terminal bolts against your box or tray. Leave room above the terminals for cable bend radius and covers.
Mount it upright, and secure it with a tray, strap, bracket or enclosure rated for its 57 lb. Epoch's matching battery tray handles that job, and it's shared with the 12V 300Ah and 334Ah Essentials cases.
Building a 24V or 48V Bank
Up to 4 in series reach the 48V class. Up to 16 in parallel take a 12V bank to 5,024Ah. Match batteries by model, age, capacity and state of charge, and fully charge each one before connecting. Run parallel strings on equal cable lengths and gauges instead of daisy-chaining. For a 24V or 36V trolling motor, 2 or 3 in series do the job with a charger set for the full bank voltage. Our team is happy to help with sizing a bank around your loads.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Eco skips Bluetooth and internal heating, uses an IP54 case and carries a 6-year warranty. Epoch's 12V 300Ah Essentials battery uses the same case size. It adds internal heating, Bluetooth and an 11-year warranty, so it suits cold climates or anyone who wants app monitoring without a shunt.
No. There's no internal heater, so the BMS blocks charging below 32°F (0°C). It allows charging again once the cells are back in range. It still discharges down to -4°F (-20°C).
In a cold RV or cabin, move the battery or warm the space, and let it settle before charging. Epoch is clear that the protection should never be bypassed.
Yes, if it can be set to Epoch's LiFePO4 values. Use 14.2 to 14.4V bulk and absorption, float off or 13.3 to 13.6V, and re-bulk at 13.2V. Turn equalization and temperature compensation off. Gear locked to a lead-acid profile needs reprogramming or replacing. With several sources connected, keep the combined current within 250A.
No. It's a deep-cycle battery. Epoch's warranty excludes engine starting with a battery not listed as a starting or dual-purpose model. For one battery that cranks the engine and runs house loads, look at Epoch's 12V 172Ah Dual Purpose battery.
Yes, as marine house power, or for a 12V trolling motor with a maximum draw at or below 250A. The IP54 case is splash resistant, not submersible. Keep it out of the bilge and anywhere standing water can collect. Shield the terminals from spray, and skip the pressure washer.
Store it between 32°F and 95°F (0°C to 35°C), at about 50% state of charge or higher, with loads and chargers disconnected. Recharge it at least every 3 months. Epoch's warranty excludes batteries stored more than 3 months without recharging.
Years 1 through 3 get you a free replacement, and years 4 through 6 get you 40% off MSRP. Register within 90 days of purchase, or keep your proof of purchase to confirm the start date.
