Description
The American made Little Rosie E-Panel connects directly to the bottom of the Little Rosie RE or the Little Rosie M to provide DC disconnects, overcurrent protection, and knockouts for additional breakers. MidNite engineered this product for longevity, and at only 5.5lbs, it’s easy to install.
The NEC (National Electrical Code) requires overcurrent protection and a disconnect switch in residential or commercial applications. Overcurrent protection monitors the system for dangerous rises in current and disconnects the circuit if needed. This reduces the chance of fire or equipment damage.
It’s possible to use a fuse or a breaker for overcurrent protection. This E-Panel uses a breaker. Breakers are sturdier than fuses and are reusable. If the breaker trips, it does not need replacement, but can be reset for continued system protection.
MidNite’s Little Rosie E-Panel includes four PVC knockouts, a knockout for a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) receptacle, and knockouts for four 0.5in DIN rail breakers. It’s possible to use these for AC or DC load breakers, PV disconnects, or PV ground fault protection. When used to power AC loads, these four breakers provide enough space to completely power a tiny home or similar space, eliminating the need for a traditional electrical panel.
The E-Panel also includes an inverter bypass switch. This safety feature makes battery maintenance easy. Once switched to BYPASS, all incoming AC power passes straight through the system without the inverter, enabling connected appliances to continue running during maintenance.
The integrated DC shunt provides a convenient location to attach a battery monitor device like the WhizBang Jr. This device continuously monitors the current flowing into or out of the battery bank to precisely calculate the battery bank’s SOC (State of Charge %). The WhizBang Jr. requires the MNGP2 for initial setup and programming.
The MNGP2 is MidNite’s talking interface. It sets up and controls the WhizBang Jr. and other MidNite devices like the Hawke’s Bay, the Barcelona, and the AUX terminals in the Little Rosie M and Little Rosie RE.
Choose the American made Little Rosie E-Panel to add overcurrent protection, AC disconnects, and DC disconnects to a Little Rosie system.
