The IntegraRack IR-series are solar panel frames set at two fixed angles, either 15° or 30°. Assembling one frame takes about two minutes, and installing a full 10-panel array takes about 100 minutes.
IntegraRack’s frames ship and install easily, as each frame comes in a 48×5×5in box and does not require railing, earth augers, concrete footings, or post pounding. At only 10lbs, these are easy to transport to the installation site and are assembled within a few minutes per frame.
These simple yet durable racks are designed to withstand severe winds and snowfall regardless of the chosen solar panel size. Panels up to 32sqft withstand up to 165mph winds* and up to 65psf of snow load, and panels up to 24sqft withstand up to 200mph winds* and up to 100psf of snow load, depending on the chosen angle.
These frames fit portrait oriented solar panels up to 32sqft, and each installation requires the same number of frames as solar panels plus one per assembled row. For example, one row with 12 solar panels requires 13 frames, or two rows of 6 panels requires 14 frames.
There are several methods to mount the frame, and IntegraRack recommends four mounting options, two of which do not require a concrete mounting structure.
- Base ballast mounting uses a minimum of 350lbs to anchor the frame. Three 175lb concrete curb stops work well for this method and secure the system to withstand up to 100mph winds*.
- The IR EarthBallast Mounting Kit includes geotextile material and epoxy, and it uses the weight of dirt or gravel deposited on the frames to hold them down. This method can withstand up to 120mph winds with 32sqft panels and 160mph winds with 24sqft panels*.
- One of IntegraRack’s IR AnchorSpike Mounting Kits secures up to 11 frames to the earth with hollow spikes and epoxy. This system withstands 120mph winds with 32sqft panels and 160mph winds with 24sqft panels*.
- The Concrete Slab/Footing Lag Bolt Mounting Kit by IntegraRack provides the bolts and washers necessary to mount 11 frames to pre-cast concrete surfaces weighing at least 1000lbs. With this method, a 32sqft panel system withstands up to 165mph winds and a 24sqft panel system withstands up to 200mph winds*.
All installations except for the Concrete Anchor Bolt Mounting require EMT/conduit pipe with a one-inch diameter, found at most local hardware stores, to strengthen the system and properly position the modules.
(*) Note: these figures are dependent on the angle chosen and the mounting method used.
