Product Summary
The Epoch 12V 100Ah Eco is an easy Group 24 swap from lead-acid to lithium: 1.28kWh of LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) in a 21 lb (9.5 kg) case that fits standard Group 24 trays and boxes. It skips Bluetooth and internal heating but keeps 100A continuous output and 4,500+ rated cycles, making it the value pick for warm-weather RVs, boats and solar setups with a shunt monitor.
Specifications:
- 12.8V nominal, 100Ah, 1.28kWh of LiFePO4 storage
- 100A continuous discharge with 300A peaks for up to 5 seconds
- Charges at up to 50A recommended and 100A maximum from all sources combined
- Rated for 4,500+ cycles with a 6-year limited warranty
- BCI Group 24 case, 9 x 10.25 x 6.75 in H×W×D (229 x 260 x 171 mm), 21 lb (9.5 kg)
- M8 female terminals, torqued to 8 to 12 Nm (71 to 106 in-lb)
- Up to 4 in series and 16 in parallel with matched 12100-ECO batteries
- IP54 case, dust protected and splash resistant, with monitoring through an external shunt (no Bluetooth or internal heating)

About the Epoch 12V 100Ah Eco Battery
Most Group 24 lithium upgrades come down to three numbers: usable energy, continuous current and cycle life. The Eco pairs 1.28kWh with a 100A continuous rating. That's enough to feed about 1,280W of inverter input, run a 12V trolling motor, or carry an RV's lights, fans and water pump overnight. For runtime, plan on about 1,024Wh. That's roughly 10 hours at 100W and 2 hours at 500W.
The cells are UL 1642 certified and UL 9540A tested, and the battery itself is certified to IEC 62619:2022. Its BMS (Battery Management System) has more than 20 built-in safety features. It protects against overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent, short circuits, and high and low temperatures.
Group 24 Lithium Battery That Fits Standard Trays
The Eco is built on a true BCI Group 24 footprint, so it fits standard Group 24 trays and boxes. Before you swap, check lid and terminal clearance, the hold-down and cable reach. Terminal positions vary from battery to battery.
Mount it upright, and hold it down with a tray, strap or box so the cables never carry its weight. The Epoch Group 24 battery tray is made for this case and the 12V 105Ah Essentials.
Monitoring a Group 24 Battery Without Bluetooth
Epoch recommends a shunt-based monitor for this model. On LiFePO4, voltage alone isn't a reliable read on state of charge. A Victron SmartShunt sits in the negative cable, counts every amp in and out, and shows state of charge on your phone.
Charging From the Grid, Solar and an Alternator
Any 12V LiFePO4 charger, converter, inverter-charger or solar controller works when set to these values. Set bulk and absorption to 14.2 to 14.4V, and end absorption at 5A or 15 minutes. Turn float off, or set it to 13.3 to 13.6V if it can't be turned off. Epoch recommends up to 50A of charge current. That makes the Victron Smart IP43 12V 50A charger a natural match for grid or generator charging.
For alternator charging, program a DC-DC charger with the same LiFePO4 values. Keep the combined current from every source within the battery's 100A maximum.
Fusing, Cables and Inverter Hookup
Epoch calls for a DC-rated fuse or breaker as close as practical to the positive terminal. Size it to protect the smallest wire in the circuit, and rate it for the system voltage and available fault current. Size the cables and fuse around the 100A continuous rating, not the 300A peak.
Keep the inverter's DC input within 100A, and plan a pre-charge circuit for large inverters. Our custom battery and inverter cables are made to order from 6 AWG to 4/0 AWG. That way the run between battery, fuse and inverter comes out the right length.
Epoch asks that installation be done by someone who understands DC electrical systems. In practice, that means choosing cable gauge and fuse ratings, programming every charge source with the values above, and torquing the M8 terminals to spec.
Building a 24V or 48V Bank From Eco Batteries
Four in series make a 48V-class bank. Up to 16 in parallel stretch a 12V system to 1,600Ah (20.48kWh). Use matched 12100-ECO batteries of the same age, capacity and state of charge. Charge each one fully before you connect it, and wire parallel strings with equal cable lengths instead of daisy-chaining. Our team is happy to help with sizing a bank around your loads.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. The Eco has no internal heater, so the BMS blocks charging below 32°F (0°C). It allows charging again once the battery is back in range. It still discharges down to -4°F (-20°C).
For a cold-climate install, Epoch's 12V 105Ah Essentials battery adds internal heating and Bluetooth in the same Group 24 size.
No. The Eco is a deep-cycle battery with no cranking rating. Epoch's warranty excludes engine starting with a battery not listed as a starting or dual-purpose model. Use a cranking-rated battery for the engine, and keep the Eco on house loads.
No. IP54 means dust protected and splash resistant, not submersible. Mount it where standing water can't collect around the case or terminals. Keep it away from pressure washers, and clean it with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
Yes, if the converter has a LiFePO4 setting that matches Epoch's values. Some converters are locked to a lead-acid profile, or run equalization or desulfation modes. Those need to be reprogrammed or replaced before the Eco goes in.
Store it between 32°F and 95°F (0°C to 35°C), at about 50% state of charge or higher, with loads and chargers disconnected. Check it at least every 3 months. Epoch's warranty excludes batteries left more than 3 months without recharging.
