Description
Victron’s 48V 100Ah battery is ideal for stationary or mobile installations like tiny homes, cabins, and RVs. It’s possible to wire up to 25 batteries in parallel for a total of 128kWh of storage. An average home uses 40-70kWh each day, so 128kWh is enough storage for multiple small residences or a larger commercial installation.
The Victron 48V battery includes a built-in BTV (Balancing, Temperature, and Voltage Control System) which monitors and balances individual battery cells and sends an alarm to the BMS if the temperature gets too high or too low. The BTV sends this information to the required external BMS which can activate or deactivate loads or chargers as needed.
These Victron batteries require an external BMS, and they are compatible with the SmallBMS NG, the Lynx Smart BMS, and the VE.Bus BMS NG. The BMS detects the number of connected batteries and also handles firmware updates.
These batteries, like other Victron products, connect to external systems for remote monitoring and control. It’s possible to access these batteries through Bluetooth with VictronConnect, through a connected GX device, or through the VRM portal (Victron Remote Management). Access the VRM portal through a GX device that is connected to WiFi.
Compatible GX devices include the Cerbo GX MK2 and the Ekrano GX. The Ekrano GX has a built-in monitor, and the Cerbo GX requires an additional monitor like the GX Touch. Both devices include nearly endless options to customize and program the energy system, and when connected to WiFi, all information is sent to the VRM portal for remote management.
This indoor battery has an ingress protection rating of IP65. This makes it suitable for storage in a dry location, and it can resist some water splashing. It comes with two mounting brackets which secure the battery against tipping or slipping.
As Victron pursues excellence, they designed this battery with a maximum self-discharge rate of 2%. This means the battery loses less than 2% charge when left in storage for one month. This contributes to the battery’s overall performance and longevity, ensuring it remains reliable for at least 2,500 cycles at 80% DOD (Depth of Discharge).
Choose Victron’s 48V battery for mobile or residential systems and a maximum power storage of 128kWh.
