Victron Energy 12.8V Lithium NG LiFePO4 Battery, Available in 100Ah, 200Ah, or 300Ah Capacities, Stackable up to 50 Batteries

These indoor 12V Victron batteries come as 100Ah, 200Ah, or 300Ah, and it’s possible to scale up to 50 batteries in parallel for up to 192kWh storage. A typical home uses 40-70kWh each day, so this capacity is enough to power residential or commercial systems that are either off-grid or grid-tied.

An integrated shunt sends battery voltage, current, and temperature information to the BMS (Battery Management System). The BMS uses that information to calculate the SOC (State of Charge %) which is then sent to the monitoring software. 

Each battery incorporates a BTV (Balancing, Temperature, and Voltage Control) which monitors individual battery cells. The BTV balances the cell voltages as needed and generates an alarm if the cell voltages or cell temperatures are too high or too low. Each BTV must connect to an external BMS like the SmallBMS NG or the VE.BUS BMS NG. When connected, the BTV sends information to the BMS, and if the BMS receives an alarm signal, it can shut down or disconnect loads. 

The integrated shunt transmits information about the battery voltage, current, and temperature to the BMS where it is evaluated and used to calculate information such as the battery SOC (State of Charge %). It is then possible to monitor this information through Bluetooth, a GX device like the Cerbo GX MK2 System Controller, or the remote VRM portal. 

A connected GX device can display battery information such as minimum and maximum cell voltages, battery temperature, and the number of connected batteries. The Cerbo requires a connected screen such as the GX touch, but all information is viewable through the Ekrano GX’s integrated screen. 

The connected GX device works in conjunction with the Lynx Smart BMS NG to send battery information to the VRM portal. Since the VRM portal is online, information on this portal is accessible from anywhere in the world, making it easy to monitor the battery at any time. 

A smart device can also access the VictronConnect app through Bluetooth. VictronConnect displays the same data as a GX device or the VRM portal, and it also shows battery specific information like the serial number and firmware version. 

These batteries are designed with a low self-discharge rate, the rate at which the battery loses charge when stored. The self-discharge rate of less than 2% per month increases the battery’s performance, longevity, and reliability.
