Product Summary
One 36V 100Ah lithium battery replaces a three-battery 12V lead-acid trolling motor bank, with far less weight and 3.84kWh for long days on the water. It charges in the cold with an internal heater, reports to your phone over Bluetooth, and includes a 10-segment meter that alarms at 10% charge.
Specifications:
- 38.4V nominal (36V class), 100Ah, 3.84kWh LiFePO4 rated for 3,500+ cycles
- 120A continuous discharge and 200A for up to 60 seconds; 100A maximum continuous charge (50A recommended)
- Internal heater for cold-weather charging, rated from -4°F to 131°F (-20°C to 55°C) with heating
- Bluetooth monitoring in the free Epoch Li-Ion app, plus an included 10-segment battery meter
- IP67 enclosure, rated for temporary immersion to 3.3 ft (1 m) for 30 minutes

About the Epoch 36V 100Ah Lithium Trolling Motor Battery
This is the big-tank option for a 36V trolling motor. One case takes the place of three 12V lead-acid batteries and their series jumpers. Epoch says it does so with far less weight. You get 3.84kWh of LiFePO4 on a single pair of terminals: one charger connection, one set of motor leads and one state of charge to watch.
Epoch plans runtime on about 80% of nominal energy, roughly 3,072Wh per battery. That's about 8 hours at an average 10A draw, or about 6.1 hours at a steady 500W. It has room for hard work too. It runs 120A continuous, with a 200A peak that holds for up to a full minute when you're pushing into wind or current.
36V 100Ah vs 36V 50Ah: Which Trolling Motor Battery Fits Your Boat
Pick the 100Ah when runtime matters most and you have room for one larger case. It measures 11 x 10.25 x 20 in and weighs 75 lb, with IP67 immersion protection and the meter in the box. The Epoch 36V 50Ah Essentials fits a Group 31 footprint at 35 lb. It carries an IP65 rating against water jets and is rated for 4,000+ cycles.
Two matched 50Ah batteries in parallel also make 100Ah, split into two lighter cases that can sit in separate compartments. A single 100Ah keeps everything on one pair of terminals and gives you the longer 60-second peak. Deciding between one large battery and two smaller ones for your motor? Our team is happy to help with sizing.
Heated Charging, Bluetooth and the Included Battery Meter
An internal heater warms the cells before charging in cold weather. With heating, the battery accepts a charge from -4°F (-20°C), while the cells themselves charge from 32°F (0°C). During warm-up, the app may show little or no charge current. Leave the charger connected, and charging carries on once the cells are ready.
The Epoch Li-Ion app (iOS and Android) shows state of charge, voltage, current, temperature, cycle data and battery status. The 10-segment meter shows charge in 10% steps and flashes an alarm at 10%, so you can check the battery without opening your phone. Mount the meter somewhere dry and visible. Route its cable away from sharp edges, heat and standing water.
Installing a 36V Trolling Motor Battery: Fusing, Cables and Charging
Mount the battery upright on a tray, strap or bracket rated for 75 lb. Land the motor leads on the M8 female terminals with clean, properly crimped lugs. Get the terminal torque for this model from Epoch support. Epoch calls for a fuse or DC-rated breaker as close as practical to the positive terminal, sized to protect the smallest wire. Loads, cable and protection get sized to the 120A continuous rating, not the 60-second peak.
Cable size depends on the motor's current, the run length and voltage drop. Our custom battery cable builder makes matched leads to length from 6 AWG to 4/0 AWG.
For a parallel bank of up to four matched batteries, charge each one fully and switch them off before wiring. Keep cable lengths and gauges equal, and protect the bank's main positive with a Class-T fuse. Charge with a 36V charger, converter or charge controller set to a LiFePO4 profile. For alternator charging, Epoch highly recommends a DC-to-DC charger.

Frequently Asked Questions
Epoch rates it for 36V trolling motors whose current stays within its ratings: 120A continuous and 200A for up to 60 seconds. Before you install, check your motor's maximum amp draw and its maker's wiring and fusing requirements. Measure the compartment too, since installations vary.
Set bulk and absorption to 42.6 to 43.2V. End absorption when current falls to 5A or after 15 minutes, whichever comes first. Leave float off (or set it to 40.0 to 40.8V), set re-bulk to 39.6V, and turn off equalization and temperature compensation. The BMS (Battery Management System) stops charging at 43.8V.
Use a 36V LiFePO4 charger, or a programmable 36V charger set to these values. Epoch puts a full recharge from empty at roughly 6.7 to 7 hours on its 15A charger, plus taper and balancing time.
IP67 covers dust and temporary immersion to 3.3 ft (1 m) for 30 minutes. It isn't rated for water jets, pressure washing or long-term submersion. Keep it out of standing bilge water, and skip the hose when you clean the boat.
No. Epoch builds it as a deep-cycle battery and doesn't design it for engine cranking, outboard starting or golf carts. Keep a separate starting battery for the outboard.
Charge it before storage and switch it off. Keep it between 32°F and 95°F (0°C to 35°C) where practical, for no more than 12 months. Check state of charge at least every three months. Epoch's warranty excludes batteries left uncharged for more than three months. It also excludes storage above 140°F (60°C) or below -40°F (-40°C).
Press and hold the power button until the blue LED lights. Open the Epoch Li-Ion app and pick the battery from the device list. If several batteries are nearby, match the serial number shown on the battery.
