BigBattery APEX-6.5K Off-Grid Inverter: Your Gateway to True Energy Independence

The APEX-6.5K off-grid inverter from BigBattery provides up to 6.5kW continuous output power and up to 13kW surge capacity. This is enough to power home loads and simultaneously start large appliances like pumps or motors. It’s an ideal inverter for off-grid properties, or it’s possible to wire up to six units in parallel for commercial installations.

Harvest Power From Your Solar Array

BigBattery designed this inverter to receive up to 5kW input power from a solar array on each of its two MPPTs (Maximum Power Point Trackers), each of which operate at 99.9% efficiency.

Safety features such as PV input current limiting and PV night reverse current protection keep the system from being damaged by high current from PV and keep the batteries from discharging power to the panels.

Pure Sine Wave Output for Sensitive Devices

The APEX-6.5K inverter produces a clean, pure sine wave output that safely powers both sensitive electronics and heavy-duty appliances. With split phase power at 120/240V, this off-grid inverter handles everything from refrigerators and well pumps to computers.

The system handles the load capacity of motors up to 4HP, which is perfect for workshop tools, HVAC systems, and agricultural equipment in your tiny home, family home, or off-grid homestead.

Multi-Source Power Management with Solar and Generator Inputs

BigBattery’s APEX-6.5K inverter includes two inputs. The grid/generator input accepts 65–140Vac per leg, and the 40A bypass current makes it possible to simultaneously power connected loads and charge batteries.

Multiple Operating Modes for Maximum Control

Programmable settings on the APEX-6.5K off-grid inverter make it possible to prioritize inputs and outputs. Depending on your needs, you can program the APEX-6.5K to use solar power whenever possible or to use a combination of solar power and incoming AC power.

You can also program the APEX-6.5K to charge batteries with grid power during times with lower electricity costs and use battery power to run your home during peak hours. This can reduce your electrical bill and lead to huge savings.

Compatible Batteries

BigBattery designed the APEX-6.5K off-grid inverter for compatibility with the 48V NEXUS, ETHOS, and HUSKY 2 batteries, but it’s compatible with most lithium and lead acid batteries.

For batteries containing a BMS, the inverter can display some alarms and fault codes. For example, a BMS may include battery over voltage protection, battery under voltage protection, and battery over current protection, and the APEX-6.5K can display these alarms.
