About the EG4 WallMount Battery Connector
EG4's 280Ah and 314Ah WallMount batteries use Degson's ESP-250A-70 sealed touch-safe connector system. Each battery ships with two red and two black 2/0 AWG cables that have a Degson connector on one end and raw wire on the other, intended for terminating to your inverter's lugs. This kit gives you the connector hardware to terminate that raw end with a Degson plug instead, which is what you'll want for clean battery-to-battery parallel runs.
Why You'd Buy This
Most buy this kit when they're paralleling multiple WallMount batteries and the included paralleling cable kit lengths don't fit the installation cleanly. By terminating raw cable ends with Degson connectors, you can build cables to your exact length without extra cost or excess slack. This is also the right part if you damaged a connector during installation and need a replacement.
Polarity Keying
The orange (positive) and black (negative) shells are physically keyed differently, so an orange-shell connector cannot mate with a negative battery terminal and vice versa. Buy orange for positive runs, black for negative runs.
Crimp Tooling Required
These connectors require a Degson crimp die sized for the ESP-250A-70 series. Standard battery lug crimpers will not produce the correct termination. If you don't already have the right tooling, EG4's pre-assembled paralleling cable kits are typically the more practical option than buying connectors and tools separately.
