Description

The EG4 BOSSBox Cable Kit provides essential power and communication cables which connect the EG4 WallMount 280Ah batteries to the EG4 hybrid inverters when used with the BOSSBox enclosure. This cable set uses factory-specified cable lengths, eliminating guesswork and ensuring proper connections within the BOSSBox configuration. 

The kit includes four 2/0 AWG (70mm²) power cables, two red and two black. Each 72in cable is rated for 200A continuous power between the battery and the inverter. They route from the battery inside the BOSSBox enclosure to an externally mounted inverter, such as the 18kPV, 12kPV, FlexBOSS18, or FlexBOSS21.

Each cable features one weatherproof Degson quick connect terminal end and one raw end. The Degson connectors provide a simple connection without complicated tools. Line up the cable with the matching terminal on the weatherproof battery and push to connect. The connection is secure, vibration resistant, and suited for outdoor use. 

The raw end makes it possible to connect to nearly any compatible inverter. Attach lugs for inverters that cannot accept raw wire. 3/0 AWG lugs ensure the thick cable fits snug while allowing all strands to slide in with ease for a secure connection.

All cables meet NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements for battery interconnections, and they can handle maximum surge currents with less than 2% voltage drop under full load conditions.

The communication cable enables closed loop BMS (Battery Management System) integration. This makes it possible to monitor the battery in real time, report the SOC (State of Charge %), and coordinate the charging and discharging between the batteries and compatible EG4 inverters. It’s possible to use both RS485 and CAN protocols. These are standards for system integration, and they enable remote monitoring options.

Important: A BOSSBox purchase includes cables for one inverter and one battery. Every additional inverter requires one additional cable kit. Systems with multiple batteries need the EG4 paralleling kit to parallel all units.
