About the EG4 6-Slot Enclosed Battery Rack
The EG4 enclosed battery rack holds up to six server rack batteries in a single freestanding steel cabinet. It ships fully welded and pre-assembled, so there's no frame to bolt together on site. Slide the batteries in, connect the included busbars, route your cables, and the installation is done. At 24 x 26 x 46 inches it fits in a garage, utility closet, or mechanical room without taking up more floor space than necessary.
What It Holds
The rack accepts standard 19-inch server rack form factor batteries. Six slots means up to 30.72 kWh of storage with EG4 LL-S 48V 100Ah batteries, or equivalent capacity with other server rack batteries in 12V, 24V, or 48V configurations. The slots are spaced to allow airflow between batteries, and the vented front door promotes passive cooling without requiring fans.
Busbars and Wiring
The rack includes 600A-rated heavy-duty busbars with protective covers for connecting batteries in parallel. That's enough headroom for six batteries at their full discharge rate without needing external busbar upgrades. Cable routing ports on the top and bottom of the enclosure keep wiring organized and out of the way.
Security and Access
The front door is hinged and lockable. This matters in shared spaces like garages, shops, and commercial buildings where you don't want someone opening a cabinet full of live DC connections. The lock is a basic keyed latch, not a high-security mechanism, but it prevents casual access and satisfies most installation requirements for battery enclosures.
Mobility
The rack comes with removable casters, so you can roll it into position during installation and then either leave the casters on or remove them for a permanent floor-mounted setup. At 100 lbs empty, you'll want the casters on until the rack is in its final location, because once you load six batteries it's not moving by hand.

Each slot has approximately 6 inches of vertical clearance between rail pairs. Any 19-inch wide server rack battery that fits within that height will physically slide into the slots. The thing to be aware of is that the battery securing bolt holes in the rails are drilled for EG4 batteries, so a different brand will sit on the rails but the bolt holes likely won't line up for securing it. Measure your battery's height before ordering, and contact us if you're unsure.
You don't need to fill all six slots. The rack works fine with one battery and you can add more over time. Many installations start with two or three batteries and expand later as budget allows.
