Frequently Asked Questions

Each slot has approximately 6 inches of vertical clearance between rail pairs. Any 19-inch wide server rack battery that fits within that height will physically slide into the slots. The thing to be aware of is that the battery securing bolt holes in the rails are drilled for EG4 batteries, so a different brand will sit on the rails but the bolt holes likely won't line up for securing it. Measure your battery's height before ordering, and contact us if you're unsure.

You don't need to fill all six slots. The rack works fine with one battery and you can add more over time. Many installations start with two or three batteries and expand later as budget allows.

600A. That's enough for six EG4 48V 100Ah batteries at their full discharge rate in parallel without needing external busbar upgrades.

Yes. The casters are removable, and the flat top of the cabinet allows stacking. Remove the casters from the top cabinet and bolt it down for stability.

No. EG4 designates this as an indoor cabinet. Install it in a garage, utility closet, basement, or mechanical room. Keep it away from direct water exposure and high humidity environments (above 55%).

The cabinet includes the busbars, busbar covers, casters, battery securing bolts, and wire glands. The battery-to-busbar cables (6 AWG red and black) come with the EG4 batteries, not with the rack. You'll need to supply your own cables from the cabinet busbars to your inverter, sized appropriately for your system's current draw and cable run distance.

The cabinet weighs about 156 lbs empty with casters. Each EG4 48V 100Ah battery weighs approximately 106 lbs. A fully loaded 6-battery rack weighs roughly 792 lbs, so make sure your floor can handle the load and use the casters to position the rack before loading batteries.

Yes. The cabinet includes grounding fasteners (M6 studs) on the floor of the enclosure with pre-installed grounding wires to the door and back panel. You need to connect an equipment grounding conductor from the cabinet's grounding fastener to your system's equipment grounding system before installing any batteries.
