ECO-WORTHY EC100 48V 100A Battery Charger Overview

The ECO-WORTHY EC100 48V 100A Battery Charger converts AC power to DC power for battery charging. It can convert unstable generator power to clean power for batteries, and at 240V, it can charge a 48V 100Ah battery in one hour. It includes an adjustable charge voltage range of 42-57.8V and an adjustable charge current range of 2-100A. With RS485 battery communication, the ability to automatically start or stop a generator, and its multiple protection features, it’s ideal for most off-grid or grid-tied alternative energy systems.

Key Features of the ECO-WORTHY EC100 48V 100A Battery Charger

The EC100 outputs clean and stable power for battery charging. Generator power, power from an RV park, and some other AC power sources produce power with fluctuating frequency and voltage. This can damage batteries or sensitive inverters, but the EC100 can receive this power and stabilize it before passing it to more delicate components.

When receiving 240V input, the EC100 can output up to 5.78kW at 100Adc with 92% efficiency. This is enough to charge a nearly depleted 48V 100Ah LiFePO4 battery in about one hour, making it ideal for emergency backup or for quick charging in solar systems on low sun days.

With a 120V input, it can output up to 2.89kW at 60A with 88% efficiency, making it able to charge a 100Ah battery in about 2 hours.

It’s possible to adjust the charging voltage from 42V to 57.8V and the charging current from 2A to 100A, even during use. Settings save automatically, and the charger remembers previous settings after a power outage.

The EC100 charges batteries with CC/CV charging (Constant Current/Constant Voltage). This method switches between a constant current and a constant voltage to quickly charge batteries.

The RJ45 port allows direct RS485 communication with compatible server rack batteries using the Pylon protocol. This communication allows the charger to see the battery SOC (State of Charge %) and to automatically start a connected and compatible generator. If RS485 communication is unavailable, the charger can still start or stop a generator with the user defined voltage thresholds.

You can connect a generator to the EC100’s RJ11 port for automatic starting. You define the start and stop thresholds based on battery SOC or voltage. It’s also possible to connect a generator without the RJ11 port, but in this case, you must manually start and stop the generator.

When the EC100 turns on, the current increases slowly to eliminate a sudden demand on the generator. This allows the generator to slowly rise to the needed output and increases the generator’s life.

The EC100 includes safety features to protect against over voltage, under voltage, high temperature, short circuit, reverse polarity, and more. These features activate error codes for quick troubleshooting.

Ideal Applications for the ECO-WORTHY EC100 48V 100A Battery Charger

ECO-WORTHY designed the EC100 for 48V alternative energy systems in residential off-grid and hybrid solar installations. It enables battery charging in solar systems with long periods of inclement weather, in residences during grid failure, or in generator systems requiring an automatic generator start/stop feature.
