About the Blue Sea Systems Class-T Fuse Block
This is a tin-plated solid copper fuse block built for Class T fuses in the 225A to 400A range. The copper bus provides low-resistance current transfer that cheap stamped-steel blocks can't match, and the tin plating protects against corrosion in marine and outdoor environments. If you're installing a Class T fuse to protect a lithium battery bank or an inverter input, this is the block most inverter manufacturers reference in their installation manuals.
Four-Stud Design
The block uses a four-stud layout: two studs hold the fuse, and two provide the cable connections. This separation gives you room to install large cable lugs (up to 4/0 AWG) without the fuse body getting in the way. Stainless steel studs resist corrosion and handle the 190 in-lb torque spec without deformation. The insert-molded stud design means they won't spin or pull out under heavy cable tension. One-piece stainless flange nuts simplify installation.
Cover and Cable Routing
The clear insulating cover satisfies ABYC and USCG insulation requirements and lets you visually inspect the fuse without removing it. Removable breakout plugs on the cover allow cable entry from any direction, so you can orient the block however works best in your battery compartment or electrical panel. The UL 94-V0 rated base resists deformation under the heat generated during high-current events.
Standard vs. Ignition-Protected
This block is available in two variants. The standard version (5502) works for any installation where ignition protection is not required, including residential off-grid, RVs, and diesel-powered boats. The ignition-protected version (5502100) meets SAE J1171 and ISO 8846 and is required for installation in gasoline engine compartments or fuel tank spaces where flammable vapors may be present. Choose the correct variant for your application.
Compatible Fuses
Pair this block with a Blue Sea Systems Class-T fuse in the appropriate amperage rating (225A, 250A, 300A, 350A, or 400A). Fuses are sold separately.
