Pytes V16 48V Lithium Battery, 314Ah 16kWh Heated and Corrosion-Resistant LiFePO4 Battery for Whole Home Backup, IP66, Wall or Floor Mounting

Pytes designs premium batteries with quality components. This 48V battery stores up to 16kWh of energy and is crafted with quality quick connectors, a custom BMS, and flexible circuit boards. In order to increase the battery capacity while maintaining an economical price, Pytes opted for larger 314Ah cells instead of 100Ah cells. This created a battery with a smaller footprint and fewer components than batteries with similar capacity. 

It’s also designed to withstand extreme weather. As an IP66 battery, it’s dustproof and water resistant, and as a battery with C4-M corrosion resistance, it’s suited for coastal regions or other installations high in humidity or pollutants. 

The integrated heater enables the V16 to charge even at temperatures as low as -0.4°F. The heater activates as needed to raise the battery temperature until it reaches a safe operating level. While this battery is suited for nearly any environment, Pytes recommends installing it in a shed or similar structure away from direct exposure to the elements. 

This battery can output up to 200A continuous power and can surge up to 300A for 15 seconds. This means it can run home loads while starting a large item like a compressor or well pump. It’s an ideal battery for off-grid or grid-tied residential installations, and it’s possible to wire up to 16 batteries in parallel for a maximum storage capacity of 256kWh. 

This battery includes multiple safety features. A current limiter ensures the battery doesn’t over charge, and a precharge circuit guards against high inrush currents. The custom BMS (Battery Management System) designed by Pytes offers further protection by balancing the cells, limiting the charge and discharge current, and recording battery information in a system log. 

The battery also includes RSD (Rapid Shutdown) capabilities and fire safety mechanisms. The communication ports include a terminal where it’s possible to wire an RSD button like the IMO RSD initiator. When connected, the external RSD device can shut down power to the battery and the battery can send a shutdown signal to connected and compatible devices. 

The V16 also includes an internal fire suppression system and a safety vent. LiFePO4 batteries, like the V16, are some of the safest in the industry. They are unlikely to catch fire when installed correctly. However, should the battery reach a dangerous temperature, the fire suppression system activates and the vent opens to eliminate dangerous heat and gasses.
