The Victron VE.Bus to USB (MK3-USB) interface configuration tool allows communication between Victron devices and a computer. It allows for configuration changes and updates to any of the Victron inverters, ensuring the system has the needed capabilities.

Description

The Victron VE.Bus to USB (MK3-USB) configuration tool is used to control any Victron inverter with an RJ45 port. This cable connects from any laptop with a USB port to any Victron Inverter. This cable can also be used to connect to a user-designed Raspberry Pi-based Venus-OS system. The MK3-USB cable allows programming and firmware updates in the following devices:

  • Multi, MultiGrid, MultiPlus, MultiPlus-II
  • Quattro
  • Inverter/Charger settings in ECOmulti
  • EasySolar, EasyPlus
  • Inverters with a VE.Bus communication port

The Victron VE.Bus only needs a standard RJ45 cable to hook into the inverter. Afterward, it’s as simple as connecting it to a computer and changing the settings of the inverter.

Please Note: The MK3-USB requires the use of an RJ45 cable for connection to a MultiPlus inverter/charger.

    This adapter makes it easy to access all the features of a Multiplus both statically (using VE.Configure) and dynamically (using Venus OS and Node Red). I consider it a “must” for any VE.Bus system.
