Description
The Midwest 50A RV Power Outlet provides a weatherproof NEMA 14-50R receptacle for temporary power connections in a rugged NEMA 3R enclosure. Factory-assembled and tested, this unit arrives ready for immediate installation without requiring field assembly of individual components.
The NEMA 14-50R receptacle delivers 120/240V split-phase power at 50A, matching standard shore power connections for larger RVs and motorhomes. This four-wire configuration supports dual 120V hot legs for running multiple high-demand appliances simultaneously, including dual air conditioners, electric water heaters, and residential refrigerators. The receptacle accepts standard 50A RV power cords with NEMA 14-50P configurations.
Construction features heavy-gauge G-90 zinc-coated steel that resists corrosion and maintains appearance through years of outdoor exposure. The welded flange design creates a single-piece enclosure that eliminates water entry points while providing superior structural integrity. Dead-front construction prevents accidental contact with live terminals, meeting strict safety requirements for public and residential installations.
The hinged door includes rolled edges that protect service cables from abrasion and a padlock hasp for securing access when needed. Multiple knockouts accommodate 1/2″ through 1-1/2″ conduit for top or bottom feed configurations. Wire terminals accept 8-2 AWG copper or aluminum conductors for line, neutral, and ground connections.
Measuring approximately 9-1/8″ H x 5-3/4″ W x 5-3/16″ D, the compact enclosure mounts easily to posts, pedestals, or building walls. All hardware meets NEC Article 551 requirements for RV parks and OSHA standards for temporary power. UL listed for safety with a 1-year manufacturer warranty.
