The IntegraRack IR-45ASA is a seasonally adjustable ground mount that lets you set each solar module to its own angle anywhere from 15° to 45°, so you can capture a low winter sun and a high summer sun from the same array. It carries the same rail-free BallastRack engineering as the rest of the IntegraRack lineup, with a range of anchoring options that make site prep simple and keep concrete optional.

  • EarthBallast is a great option for any location, as it only requires gravel or water tanks as the weight to hold the frames and panels down
  • AnchorSpikes are great for dense, compact soil; the spikes are hollow and allow the epoxy to seep into the ground, securing the frames
  • Footing Lag Bolts are used with frames mounted on concrete slabs
  • EarthScrews are similar to AnchorSpikes, but instead of using epoxy to secure the frames down, the screws dig into the earth to hold the frames in place; dense soil required

The IntegraRack IR EarthScrew Mounting Kit secures IntegraRack BallastRack frames into dense, compacted soil as a ground mount solar panel anchoring system. Each kit includes 10 high-strength screws measuring 30in. This is enough to mount five BallastRack solar racking frames or one row of four solar panels. The EarthScrews install without heavy equipment and allow for post-installation leveling, making them a practical anchoring option for residential, off-grid, or small commercial ground mount solar installations.

The IntegraRack BallastRack kit is a build-to-site ground mount. You choose the frame that sets your tilt angle, then choose the anchoring method that matches your soil and wind conditions. Every frame is rail-free and clamps directly to the module, so a full array goes together with hand tools and no rail runs to cut or align. Frames assemble in about two minutes each, and most installations need no concrete footings, post pounding, or earth augers.

How to Size and Configure the Kit

Plan on one frame per solar module, plus one extra frame at the start of each row. The frames set their own spacing: position the base tubes one inch less than the width of your module, and the IR-F2 flange clamps hold the module along its edges. Because each module can slide up or down on the clamps, you can fine-tune ground clearance and set a height that sheds snow. Add the anchoring kit that fits your site, and the same frame works with any of the four methods.

Frame Angle Options

The kit covers four tilt configurations. The IR-15 is a fixed 15 degree frame with a 0 degree hurricane setting, suited to high-wind and low-latitude sites like the Gulf Coast. The IR-30 is a fixed 30 degree frame for general year-round production across much of the country. The IR-40FSA sets any angle from 15 to 40 degrees and adds extra ground clearance, so you can dial in the tilt for your latitude one time at install. The IR-45ASA adjusts from 15 to 45 degrees per panel, which lets the same array run steep for a low winter sun and shallow for a high summer sun. EarthBallast works almost anywhere: a geotextile sheet is epoxied across the frame base tubes, then loaded with gravel, road base, or water tanks to hold the array by weight. AnchorSpike suits dense soil, using hollow barbed spikes that let epoxy flow into the ground for holding power. EarthScrew is for dense, compacted soil, driving 30-inch screws that also allow leveling after install. Footing Lag Bolt fastens the frames to a concrete slab or patio for the highest wind resistance. The anchored methods, AnchorSpike and EarthScrew in particular, call for a site uplift test before full installation, and IntegraRack recommends professional installation for those. EarthScrew and AnchorSpike are not for sandy, silty, or rocky ground.
