This EG4 battery bundle combines one EG4 WallMount 314Ah Indoor Battery with one EG4 Indoor Buildable Conduit Box, the enclosure EG4 built to sit between this battery and a compatible EG4 inverter. The battery supplies 16kWh of LiFePO4 storage. The conduit box covers the point where power, communication, and ground wiring leave the top of the battery and run to the inverter.
Battery, Conduit Box, and Inverter in One Vertical Stack
The pairing builds upward from the battery. The battery hooks onto its wall bracket, and its pre-installed feet carry part of its weight to the floor. The conduit box bolts directly to the battery’s top panel with four screws EG4 has you remove from the battery top, so the box mounts to the battery frame rather than the wall. The inverter hangs on its own bracket directly above the box, and the included hardware fastens the inverter and conduit box together.
Direct Fit With EG4 FlexBOSS, 18kPV, 12kPV, and XP Inverters
EG4 matches this conduit box to six inverters: the FlexBOSS21, FlexBOSS18, 18kPV, and 12kPV hybrid inverters and the 6000XP and 12000XP off-grid inverters. One battery and conduit box combination serves grid-tied backup systems and off-grid builds alike. With the 6000XP, EG4 notes a gap of about 3/16" on each side of the inverter.
Inside the box, the included communication cable links the battery’s CAN or RS485 port to the inverter. Auto-ID reads the inverter’s communication signal and selects the matching protocol without DIP switches or manual setup. With a FlexBOSS21, for example, the battery configures itself to the EG4/Lux protocol and takes ID 1 as the primary/leader battery. The battery also communicates with Growatt, Deye, Megarevo, Luxpower, Victron, Solis, SMA, Schneider, and Voltronic inverters over CAN or RS485, although the conduit box’s direct fit applies to EG4’s six matched models.
UL 9540 Listed Battery, Conduit Box, and FlexBOSS Configurations
EG4 holds a UL 9540 Third Edition (ANSI/CAN/UL 9540:2023) certification for 314Ah Indoor systems with one to six batteries and one to three FlexBOSS21 or FlexBOSS18 inverters. EG4’s user manual describes that listing as an integrated battery, conduit box, and inverter system, and it requires the batteries to follow EG4’s wiring diagrams with the supplied inverter-to-battery cables. This EG4 battery bundle supplies the battery and conduit box portions of that configuration. Add a FlexBOSS21 or FlexBOSS18 and wire the system to EG4’s diagrams to match the listed setup.
The battery also carries a standalone UL 9540 DC ESS listing for one to six batteries, UL 1973 certification, and UL 9540A test verification. EG4’s 4in minimum spacing between batteries comes from that UL 9540A testing, which showed no propagation between units.
