The Aptos MAC-400 microinverter connects to a single solar panel and converts generated DC power to AC power at the module level. Each microinverter includes MPPT technology to optimize panel efficiency, and they are compatible with residential or commercial systems.

Why Microinverters Matter

Microinverters maximize solar production across the entire array by capturing the most power possible from each individual panel. This means that if a panel experiences shade or another obstruction, that panel may produce little or no power, but it does not affect the production of any other solar panel in the system.

Built-In Rapid Shutdown

Solar panels installed on homes or other dwellings must conform to NEC Rapid Shutdown standards to quickly reduce voltage when needed. This protects firefighters and other emergency personnel who may need to access the solar system or cut through electrical wiring in a crisis. The MAC-400 includes built-in NEC-compliant Rapid Shutdown, so your installation is code-ready without additional devices.

MPPT at Every Panel

The MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) included in each MAC-400 continuously monitors available solar power and automatically adjusts to capture as much energy as possible. This technology is ideal for locations prone to shade, mixed roof orientations, or panels that see variable sun exposure throughout the day.

Clean, Low-Distortion Power

The MAC-400 delivers AC output with less than 3% Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). THD measures fluctuations in voltage and frequency, and power with low THD is safe for all connected devices — including sensitive electronics like lights, fans, and computers.

Weatherproof and Built to Last

With an IP67-rated NEMA 6 enclosure, the MAC-400 is sealed against dust and can withstand temporary submersion in water. Whether it's driving rain, heavy snow, or years of UV exposure, the MAC-400 is built to keep working in the conditions your roof actually sees.

Installation Notes

When installing the MAC-400, be sure to include the Aptos AC Bus Cable, which connects each microinverter to the next and routes harvested power from the entire row to the rest of the system. The AC Connector Unlock Tool safely disconnects the AC Bus Cable from the microinverter, the Bus Connector Unlock Tool opens connectors for maintenance, and AC Bus End Caps seal any exposed connector ends. The Aptos Trunk Disconnector is also needed to safely disconnect trunk connectors during installation or servicing.
