Sol-Ark SA-CT-LG 200A Current Transformer Pair, Larger Aperture for 4/0 AWG Service Conductors, Replaces Stock 100A CTs on Sol-Ark Hybrid Inverters
SKU: SA-CT-LG

Product Summary
The SA-CT-LG is the larger-aperture current transformer pair for Sol-Ark hybrid inverters. Stock CTs that ship with single Sol-Ark inverters fit conductors up to 2/0 AWG, which works for service entrances of about 100A. Upgrade to the SA-CT-LG when your service uses 4/0 conductors, which is typical for 200A residential service.
Specifications:
- Maximum Current: 200A
- Aperture Capacity: Fits up to 4/0 AWG conductor
- Quantity: Pair (one for each leg of 120/240V split-phase)
- CT Ratio: 2000:1 (matches Sol-Ark default, do not change inverter setting)

About the Sol-Ark 200A CT Pair
Sol-Ark ships single inverters with 100A CTs sized for 2/0 conductor, which covers 100A and most 125A residential services. The SA-CT-LG pair handles the larger 4/0 conductor used in 200A service entrances and any service where the existing CTs simply will not close around the wire.
When You Need the Larger CTs
Most 200A residential services use 4/0 aluminum or 2/0 copper for the service entrance conductors. The stock 100A CTs that come with a single Sol-Ark will close around 2/0 copper, but not 4/0 aluminum. If your service conductors are 4/0, you need this pair.
CTs are required, not optional, for several Sol-Ark operating modes. Limited Power to Home mode uses the CTs to measure power flow at the service entrance and adjust inverter output to match house consumption. Grid peak shaving relies on CT data to know when to discharge the battery. Parallel Sol-Ark installations require CTs on the master inverter to coordinate output between units. If your installation needs any of these features and your service conductors don't fit the stock CTs, the SA-CT-LG is the upgrade.
Installation Notes
Each CT installs around one leg of the split-phase service: one CT on L1, one on L2. White lead is positive, black is negative. The CTs connect to the dedicated CT input pins on the Sol-Ark (pins 3 and 4 for L1, pins 5 and 6 for L2). Polarity and orientation matter. For 240V split-phase installs with batteries, run Auto Detect Home Limit Sensors from the inverter menu after installation. The Sol-Ark will alternate L1 current and detect the correct polarity automatically. For 208V three-phase, auto-detect is not available and orientation must be verified manually.
If the standard CT leads aren't long enough to reach from the service panel to the inverter, Sol-Ark allows extension using twisted-pair shielded CAT6.

Frequently Asked Questions
Probably not. The stock 100A CTs that ship with a single Sol-Ark fit conductors up to 2/0 AWG, which covers most services up to about 125A. The 200A CTs are needed when your service entrance uses 4/0 conductors, which is typical for 200A residential service.
CTs are required for Limited Power to Home mode, grid peak shaving, and parallel Sol-Ark installations. They are highly recommended for all installs because they give the inverter accurate data on whole-home consumption and grid flow. If your service conductors fit the stock CTs, you don't need this larger pair. If they don't, you do.
The SA-CT-LG is sold as a pair, which is what you need for a single split-phase Sol-Ark inverter (one CT per leg). For three-phase installs or parallel systems with multiple master inverters, count two CTs per master inverter.
Yes. Sol-Ark allows extension using twisted-pair shielded CAT6 cable. Keep the run as short as practical and use shielded cable to reject electrical noise from nearby conductors.
