Rich Solar 100W 12V Monocrystalline Solar Panel, Mega 100 Series, Anodized Aluminum Frame, IP67 Junction Box, 25-Year Power Warranty

About the Rich Solar Mega 100

The Mega 100 is built around a tempered glass front with an anti-reflective coating, an anodized aluminum frame, and a sealed IP67 junction box. Pre-drilled mounting holes in the frame accept Z-brackets, ground mounts, pole mounts, and tilt mounts. The panel ships with 35.4-inch leads in 12 AWG cable and standard MC4 connectors, so it wires directly into the rest of the array without splicing or terminations.

Mechanical Loading and Durability

The frame is rated for 5400 Pa of positive load (snow) and 2400 Pa of negative load (wind). For reference, 5400 Pa converts to roughly 113 lbs per square foot, which covers the snow loads in most regions of the US. The frame is anodized aluminum, which resists corrosion in marine and humid environments better than untreated aluminum, and the AR-coated tempered glass holds up against hail and impact.

Series and Parallel Wiring

The Mega 100 wires in series for higher voltage (such as feeding a 24V or 48V solar charge controller from multiple panels) or in parallel for higher current at the same voltage. For a typical 12V system, two panels in parallel deliver about 200W at roughly 18.6V, well within the input range of common 12V MPPT charge controllers.
