This convenient and stackable battery system from BigBattery includes two 5.12kWh battery modules and one control unit. A single set delivers up to 10.24kWh of renewable energy storage, and it’s possible to parallel multiple batteries for commercial installations. The BigBattery BMS monitoring software provides an easy way to remotely observe the battery system. The software shows real-time battery information including status, voltage, temperature, and cell data. 

Advanced Safety Features

Internal Fire Suppression: While LiFePO4 batteries are some of the safest on the market, electrical equipment includes minor fire risks. To address this unlikely issue, BigBattery includes an internal fire arrestor system in each battery. Should the ETHOS’ internal temperature rise to an unsafe level, the fire extinguisher activates to prevent a fire from spreading to the rest of the energy system. 

Advanced BMS: The BMS (Battery Management System) continuously monitors the voltage, current, temperature, SOC (State of Charge %), and other aspects of the ETHOS battery. The control box displays this information, and if any of these parameters fall outside of safe limits, the BMS automatically shuts down the battery to prevent hazardous conditions.

Impressive Discharge Capacity

BigBattery designed the ETHOS to be discharged to 0% without damage. This keeps your battery functional regardless of the charging state. Since the BMS requires some power to function properly, BigBattery recommends 80% DOD (Depth of Discharge). This keeps the battery continuously functioning at peak capacity and increases the battery lifespan to 6,000 cycles.

Weather Ready

Since the ETHOS has an ingress protection rating of IP65, it’s suited for dusty installations or locations where it might get wet. 

UL Certified

The ETHOS battery meets the standards for UL 9540A and UL 1973 certifications. To achieve these certifications, the ETHOS battery underwent rigorous testing to prove it could withstand high voltage or current without an electrical breakdown, could safely interact with the other parts of an electrical system, and could pass stringent fire safety tests.
