Description

The Onan P5000iDF EFI is a dual fuel inverter generator able to power an RV and medium sized appliances. This makes it ideal for camping, motor sports, or emergency backup for critical appliances.

As a dual fuel generator, it runs on either propane or gasoline. When running on propane, it connects any size of propane tank to the generator with the included propane hose. A 20lb propane tank fuels the generator for 20 hours at 25% load, and when the 3.4 gallon gas tank is full, the P5000iDF EFI can run for 16.8 hours at 25% or 13 hours at 50%.

This portable generator delivers continuous power at 3.9kW when running on gasoline and 3.5kW when running on propane. This means it’s able to power medium sized appliances such as an A/C unit, a shop vac, or a belt sander. It can even charge cordless batteries for power tools while running other appliances, making this an ideal generator for job sites without power.

The surge power ratings of 5kW when running on gasoline and 4.5kW when running on propane mean the generator can start appliances with high in-rush current while running other devices.

Inverter generators clean up the output power to minimize THD (Total Harmonic Distortion). THD measures the fluctuations in frequency and voltage, and these fluctuations can be harmful to sensitive electronics such as phones and tablets. By reducing these fluctuations below 3%, the P5000iDF EFI provides safe power for any device.

EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) technology replaces older carburetor technology. Both technologies control the ratio of fuel and air used in an engine, but EFI technology requires less maintenance and is controlled electronically. As an EFI generator, the Onan P5000iDF EFI is dependable in altitudes up to 13,000ft.

This ultra-quiet 5kW generator is one of the quietest generators of its capacity. It runs as quietly as 52dB, quieter than a normal conversation, when operating in ECO mode.

ECO mode monitors the voltage output and limits the engine RPM (Rotations Per Minute) to only what is needed to run the current loads. This conserves fuel and reduces the noise level. This is ideal for small continuous loads like laptops and lights. Taken out of ECO mode, this EFI generator can take on large loads without hesitation.

The P5000iDF EFI includes safety features to protect against harmful emissions including CO (carbon monoxide). A CO sensor continuously monitors the generator and measures the CO levels. If these levels reach a potentially dangerous point, the generator automatically turns off.

The P5000iDF EFI is also CARB (California Air Resources Board) certified. California has strict requirements about devices that emit potentially dangerous pollutants. Before a device can be operated in California, it undergoes rigorous testing to verify it operates within acceptable limits.

Once the testing is complete, the device receives CARB certification. As a CARB certified generator, the Onan P5000iDF EFI is legal to operate in California or other states following CARB standards.

This portable generator weighs 108lbs when it is empty, so two people can easily lift it. After installation, it’s easy to relocate with the telescoping handle and attached wheels.

Choose the Onan P5000iDF EFI for a reliable 3.9kW generator suited to run medium sized devices at altitudes up to 13,000ft.
