Description

Victron’s 48V MultiPlus-II 5kVA 120V 70A inverter-charger is UL 1741 certified and is ideal for mobile applications, solar power systems, or off-grid systems. It has one AC input and two AC outputs. The Multiplus-II is a low frequency inverter with an unprecedented idle consumption of 15W. It’s rated for 4kW continuous output that peaks at 9kW. This enables pumps, motors, or other high surge items to draw needed power without interruptions or system failures.

In addition to handling high surges, the MultiPlus-II is highly programmable through the VictronConnect software. These features enable automated programming, such as activating a fan when the temperature reaches a certain level.

PowerAssist and PowerControl settings control incoming power and outgoing power. PowerControl limits power intake when incoming power is limited, and PowerAssist monitors the system for maximum efficiency.

PowerAssist continuously monitors incoming power, battery charge, and load requirements to provide extra power if needed. When load demands are greater than incoming AC, the inverter adds up to 4kW in addition to the existing AC input.

When incoming power is more than the loads consume, PowerAssist automatically diverts extra AC power to battery charging.

The MultiPlus-II powers the first AC output continuously and powers the second AC output only when power is available from the AC input. This means critical loads should be connected to the first output, and it makes the second output ideal for non-essential loads or loads that could rapidly drain a battery, such as a hot water heater.

Dual outputs, numerous programmable settings, and Victron’s PowerAssist feature make the MultiPlus-II an excellent choice for a grid-tied, off-grid, or mobile applications.

Alternative energy solutions can be complicated. Check out the Residential 10kVA 120/240V Off-Grid Power System Kit for a customizable kit including Victron’s MultiPlus-II.

Everything works perfect, except load assist. Running under 2,000 watts it pulls 2,000 watts from grid to run things and charge the batteries. Anything over 2k lowers the grid draw and drains the batteries.
