Description
The ParkPower Easy Lock RV Power Inlet is a three-prong NEMA SS2-50P, twist-lock receptacle for accepting 125/250V power at up to 50A. This unit features corrosion-resistant contacts and a weatherproof cover. Common applications for this inlet include shore power connection on an RV, boat, or cargo trailer, though it can also be used as a permanent fixture in a home as a generator power inlet.
The twist-lock connection prevents the connected power supply from being disconnected accidentally. It connects to a NEMA SS2-50R, twist-lock socket plug frequently found at RV parks and marinas.
Wiring the outlet is straightforward. The outer rear shell of the housing is removed, exposing a cable clamp and four terminals: red and black for the two legs of live power, white for neutral, and green for ground. The terminals support up to 4AWG wire. Once installation is complete, the rear of the inlet is reassembled and the whole assembly permanently mounted through the 4 screw holes on the front of the inlet.
The outer shell can be reinstalled after the wires have been tightened into place. The outer shell and the components within will be hidden behind the wall in which it is installed. The housing for the prongs and the cover are still accessible after installation.
