Victron – Temperature Sensor for BMV / SmartShunt
This Victron battery temperature sensor allows the second channel of the BMV-702 or BMV-712 battery monitors to be used for battery temperature measurement instead of to monitor the voltage of an auxiliary battery. The BMV can store the temperature readings in is historical data store. The temperature sensor comes with a short lead which plugs into the circuit board on the smart shunt.
This temperature sensor is different than the ones provided with a Multiplus or added to a Cerbo-GX, as it provides power to the SmartShunt through the ring terminal with a fuse built into the harness. The temperature sensors included with a Multiplus or added to a Cerbo-GX do not pass the power through that the shunt needs to operate.
Please note: if you use the second channel to read temperature using this sensor then you cannot also use it to also do something else such as read the voltage of a second battery. It can only be used for one function and the channel is user programmable.
