EG4’s 48V LifePower4 V2 battery delivers up to 100A continuous charge and discharge and stores up to 5.12kWh. Advanced safety features and the ability to wire up to 64 batteries in parallel make this an ideal battery for both small residential systems and larger commercial or industrial systems. Each LifePower4 battery includes fire arrestors which activate if the battery temperature reaches a dangerous level. Once activated, the fire arrestors suppress the fire to prevent it from spreading to the rest of the energy system.
Should the energy system require immediate shutdown, these batteries include RSD (Rapid Shutdown) compatibility. An RSD button attached to the system, like the IMO Rapid Shutdown Initiator, can send a shutdown signal to all connected devices, and EG4 designed these batteries to respond when they receive the signal. This feature protects firefighters and other emergency personnel in a crisis.
The LifePower4 V2 meets the standards for UL 1973 certification, UL 9540A certification, and UL 9540 certification with EG4’s 18kPV inverter. To obtain these certifications, the LifePower4 V2 underwent rigorous testing to verify its safety in various situations, including fire safety at the cell level, the module level, and when included in an energy system.
The advanced BMS (Battery Management System) used in the LifePower4 V2 batteries continuously monitors the battery to protect against a variety of dangerous scenarios. The BMS automatically detects changes in the battery voltage, current, or temperature and can turn off the battery if it reaches dangerous conditions. It also monitors the charge in each cell to maintain proper cell balance across the battery. This protects the battery and prolongs its life, keeping it operating at the highest capacity for over 6,000 cycles.
To simplify the installation process, EG4 includes several cables in the battery shipment. The included battery communication cable and set of connection cables link the battery to the rest of the battery bank to promote communication and transfer power throughout the battery system.
EG4 designed each battery to last more than 6,000 cycles at an 80% DOD (Depth of Discharge). Even after 6,000 cycles, the LifePower4 V2 will continue to operate, but it will operate with slightly less capacity.
As a server rack battery, it’s easy to install multiple batteries in a single location. Battery storage like the EG4 6-slot battery rack can contain multiple batteries for simple and mobile storage. Server rack batteries are ideal for small systems with plans for future expansion as it’s possible to purchase one or two batteries and expand the system as needed.
