Description
The Rich Solar ALPHA 5 PRO is a 51.2V 100Ah lithium iron phosphate battery designed for rack-mount energy storage applications in residential, commercial, and off-grid installations. The unit delivers 5.12kWh of usable energy with UL1973 and UL9540A certifications for stationary energy storage systems. The 3U rack-mount form factor measures 17.7 inches length by 17.8 inches width by 5.2 inches height, weighing 99.2 pounds with integrated carry handles for installation.
The battery management system incorporates a built-in circuit breaker and protection circuits for overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent, short circuit, and temperature extremes. Operating voltage ranges from 43.2V to 58.4V with charge voltage limited to 57.6V and discharge cutoff at 44.8V. The BMS provides 100A continuous charge and discharge capability with primary overcurrent protection at 110A and secondary protection at 150A. Each internal cell includes individual fusing to isolate failed cells while maintaining pack operation.
Communication protocols include CAN bus and RS485 interfaces for compatibility with multiple inverter brands including Sol-Ark, EG4, Victron, and others supporting closed-loop battery communication. The integrated 3.5-inch touchscreen displays real-time parameters including voltage, current, state of charge, temperature, and fault conditions. Remote monitoring capability extends through PC software connection for system diagnostics and configuration.
Temperature management includes operational ranges from -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F) for discharge and 0°C to 60°C (32°F to 140°F) for charging. The BMS enforces charge prohibition below 32°F and discharge prohibition below -4°F with automatic shutdown at 149°F. The heated model variant includes an internal heating element that enables charging in sub-freezing conditions by maintaining battery temperature above the 0°C threshold.
The system architecture supports parallel connection of up to 15 units for 76.8kWh total capacity at 51.2V nominal. Parallel operation maintains synchronized BMS communication across all connected units without requiring external battery management hardware. The sheet metal enclosure provides IP20 protection rating suitable for indoor installation in controlled environments.
Cycle life rating is specified at 7,000 cycles at 80% depth of discharge with 1C charge and discharge rates at 25°C. Self-discharge remains below 3% per month when stored at 50% state of charge. The prismatic LiFePO4 cells utilize welded interconnections to eliminate mechanical connection failures. Grade A cell classification indicates cells meeting manufacturer specifications for capacity, internal resistance, and voltage uniformity.
